The Invisible Sting

"That's impossible", said twins Jeremy & Liza after their Mom told them they're all connected by this thing called an Invisible String. "What kind of string"? They asked with a puzzled look to which Mom replied, "An Invisible String made of love." That's where the story begins. A story that teaches of the tie that really binds. The Invisible String reaches from heart to heart.

I Love My Mama
Mama and Baby elephant love to dip and splash, walk and sing, rest and talk, and cuddle together
under the stars.

Love To Mama: A Tribute to Mothers
Pat Mora edited and contributed to this beautiful and celebratory collection, in which thirteen poets write with joy, humor, and love about the powerful bond between mothers, grandmothers, and children. These poets represent a wide spectrum of Latino voices, from award-winning authors to a 15-year-old new talent. They write passionately about their Puerto Rican, Cuban, Venezuelan, and Mexican American backgrounds and the undeniable influence of their mothers and grandmothers. Illustrated with exuberance by Ecuadorian artist Paula S. Barragán M., Love to Mamá is sure to be embraced and treasured by everyone who wants to recognize mothers as one of our universal role models.
Mama, Do You Love Me?

This beloved story of a child testing the limits of her independence, and a mother who reassuringly proves that a parents love is unconditional and everlasting is a perfect first book for toddlers.

What Not To Give Your Mom On Mother's Day
A little boy offers advice on what NOT to give your mom on Mother's Day, unless she's an animal. For example, don't give her a rotting log unless she's a salamander, or a bunch of flies unless she's a spider! What would Mom like best?

The Night Before Mother's Day
It's the night before Mother's Day, and Dad and the kids are determined to show Mom just how much they love her. They whip up a cake from scratch, and offer a special coupon for a day at the spa, right in their own kitchen! Kids and moms will love reading this sweet story aloud together for a fun way to celebrate Mother's Day.

Because Your Mommy Loves You
When a little boy and his mom go camping, mini-disasters abound, and there are lots of opportunities for Mom to step in and fix everything. But instead, with a loving touch, this mommy shows her child ways to do things for himself, going far to encourage her child’s independence. And there is still plenty of opportunity for snuggling under the stars. This warm and humorous testament to all the loving things a supportive mom does each day is every bit as heartwarming as its predecessor and is sure to become a favorite for families everywhere.

A Ride On Mama's Back
Through a steamy rain forest in Brazil, along a river in Papua New Guinea, across a frozen inlet in the arctic, this book takes young children on a far-reaching journey to discover how babies worldwide are carried and what they see from their unique vantage points.

Mama Outside, Mama Inside
A mother has lots of preparation to do when expecting a baby--whether she's a bird weaving a nest in the tree outside, or a woman setting up a nursery inside her home. In this heartwarming picture book, two mothers share a common love of their babies, until one day it's time for Mama Outside to follow her babies into the sky and fly away.

Her Mother's Face
Siobhan missed her mother dearly. Ever since she had gone, she spent her days reminiscing about the time they spent together. She remembered her mother's voice singing and her mother's hands combing her hair. But no matter how hard Siobhan tried she could never see her mother's face... This is a touching and uplifting story about love and loss.

This morning I decided to make hummus - delicious and nutritious addition for healthy snacks. As usual my sweet pea was there right next to me. As I poured chickpeas in the bowl she took one of them and started peeling the skin. She saw me do it before once. Well, I could not miss this chance.
I set up  her table:

• bowl with chickpeas
• plate for skin
• container for peeled chickpeas

"At one year of age the child says his first intentional word…his babbling has a purpose, and this intention is a proof of conscious intelligence…He becomes ever more aware that language refers to his surroundings, and his wish to master it consciously becomes also greater….Subconsciously and unaided, he strains himself to learn, and this effort makes his success all the more astonishing."  - Maria Montessori(The Absorbent Mind, p. 111)

As parents we have an incredible privilege to witness the development of human's intelligence from the first moment of child's life.

Recently I left my work at Montessori Centre to give my all to our two year old girl. We would like to her to grow understanding and speaking three languages: Russian, Spanish and English. This happens quite naturally since Russian is my mother tongue, her dad speaks Spanish and we live in the English speaking country.

Dinosaurs are always subject of fascination for all children. My two year is not exception. To be honest, I had completely different plan for our activity inspired by TinkerLab Creative Challenge.

But, as they often do, my child had her own ideas all along. I was delighted to follow her lead. She brought her dinosaur toy and a piece of blue cloth, laid the cloth on a table, and said: "Ocean". Then she leaned dinosaur over it pretending it was drinking. I could not take grin of my face it was so cute. I also was thrilled to see my two year old girl to project her learning (she loves everything to do with water), and create associations: ocean - blue - water - drinking.

Teaching child about fundamental aspects of Art History can play a significant role in their understanding of the art pieces. This printable was created to provide an opportunity to open window into the world of imagination that sparked extraordinary talented people to create these pieces of art that touched and influenced many generations.
